There was a Hot Wheels Rally outside my house and so I naturally grabbed my camera to see what all the commotion was about!
The Plymouth Superbird just couldn't put the power down, sliding all over the place. The rally prepped Toyota MR2 was stuck behind most of this rally cross course since the Plymouth's massive girth made it impossible to pass on such narrow trails. They passed the Plymouth here to post a mediocre stage time.
This Toyota 2000GT took the course casually. The owner, Francois, said that she was out here to have fun. I had fun just looking at this pristine Toyota classic.
Focus RS doing doughnuts on an empty lot.
Ken Block made an appearance on the rally stage.
He took a corner to fast and wound up on his side. He walked away with minor scrapes.
Couldn't resist the chance to shoot this European Civic Type-R. It's illegally imported here in the U.S, so let's try to keep this on the down low.
The legendary Pikes Peak Celica made an appearance...also doing doughnuts in an empty lot.
The Tyrrell F1 car didn't want to be left out and did his own special doughnut to upstage the Celica.
He's running slicks BTW...talk about skill!
Lastly Ferrari FF stuck in the snow. Driver was texting and wasn't paying attention.

This is funny stuff, but you really need to remove the time/date stamp from the photos on your camera menu...

Thanks! Let's just hope Hot Wheels galvanized the wheel bearing/axle lol...If they are anything like my hobby Grade R/C cars when driven in the snow, then I can expect them to rust over from the water almost instantaneously.

He originally was slated to make an appearance, but there was logistical issues with his Dodge Dart; as in Hot Wheels has yet to make me his Dart lol.

Marine grease those bearings!! I..still need to do that on my Axial rock crawler..though my favorite (hpi 5th scale) has sealed bearings :D

You have a rock crawler! Awesome! Mine's just an old Tamiya TL-01 chassis 1:10 scale. It's a frankenstein of a car with various chassis upgrades and a Traxxis stinger motor. It's good for 20-24 mph...I'd upgrade it but the plastic gears in the car are notorious for melting and shredding when too much power is put through the drivetrain.

Yeah, alot more fun then I thought they would be (the crawlers that is, lol) and nice! I used to have a few 10th scale touring cars, in fact I used to go racing all the time with them, sold them now though, just have a bunch of trucks ranging from a 18th scale buggy to a 5th scale 2 stroke gas short course truck, with is probably my favorite of any RC i've ever had..and I've had.. at least 12.. lol
